Hollywood's Best kept beauty secrets

You don’t have to have your own personal makeup artist to get the look. With a little effort and some of the best kept Hollywood beauty secrets, you too can shine like the stars and get that Hollywood glam.  Ever wondered how they steal the spotlight? Want to get in on the secrets that put glamour gals such as Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Halle Berry on the cover of all the top fashion and beauty magazines?  It is easier than you think, and the remedies are not too far away, all accessible from your kitchen pantry!

Achieving flawless skin certainly involves making an effort but it doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune on expensive beauty products.  Sure they can afford it, but the old adage ‘the simple things in life are often the best’ holds true for a number of Hollywood’s hottest stars.  An ingredient as simple as vitamin C, can do a lot more than ward off the common cold.  Halle Berry has a nightly ritual of rubbing pure vitamin C on her face before she applies moisturizer.   And who wouldn’t want supple skin like supermodel Cindy Crawford? How does she do it? She sprays her face with whole milk and water in order to hydrate her skin throughout the day.  Ever woken up with a pimple the size of a softball on your face? Well stars are not immune to this either, the only difference is, they know exactly how to combat it.  What’s the secret? Toothpaste! Yes, you read correctly, toothpaste! Jennifer Love Hewitt swears by toothpaste, applied overnight to a blemish, to heal pimples. While we are on the subject of toothpaste, before you splurge on expensive whitening creams, why not simply brush your teeth with strawberries, a natural and delicious teeth whitener.  Apparently this can eliminate that ghastly purple stain left on your teeth after drinking red wine.  It works for Catherine Zeta-Jones, it could work for you!

If you weren’t born with luscious lips like Angelina Jolie and collagen injections just aren’t for you, read on!!  Singing diva, Mariah Carey has the secret to pouty lips direct from the baking aisle of your local supermarket! Mariah adds a drop or two of peppermint extract to her lip gloss to instantly give a pouty look. The mint increases blood flow to the lips which causes plumping. If you have skin sensitivity, test it on your wrist before applying it to your lips.  What do Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renée Zellweger have in common?  Cinnamon oil! When applied to the lips it has the same effect.

A few Hollywood secrets that have been let out of the bag seem, well, a little odd, like the one involving toilet seat covers!  Sarah Jessica Parker actually admitted to using disposable toilet seat covers like the ones found in public restrooms to blot her oily T-Zone when she is on the movie set!

As for you redheads, here is a great one for you.  The next time you are mixing your vodka cranberry at home, save a little cranberry juice and use it as a rinse for your hair.  This beauty tip came straight from the mouth of Nicole Kidman (back in the day when she was actually a redhead!) and is said to create and maintain red highlights.

Ok, so you regularly maintain your manicure, but want to get that Hollywood touch? The secret is olive oil.  Olive oil has long been known for its health benefits, but is now finding its way into the bathroom cabinets of Hollywood’s most sought after stars.

Maintaining her weekly manicure is simply not enough for Julia Roberts!  To get perfect nails she soaks them in olive oil. This moisturizes nails and those stubborn cuticles, as well as cutting down on pesky hang nails caused by dry skin.  Catherine Zeta-Jones uses olive oil for another purpose.  When applied to her hair as a mask, it adds shine to her sexy locks.

These simple and cost effective tips will have you shining like the stars and give red carpet looks that are simple and effective and won’t break the bank!
